Parent's Club:
The recently formed Chi Phi Parent’s Club is an organization consisting of parents of the Nu Delta Chapter at Florida State University. The goal is to support the chapter and provide financial and fundraising assistance when needed. All suggestions on how we can best structure this organization are welcome. Here is a word from the Head of the Parent's Club concerning recent activies:
"The fraternity wanted a meal during finals week last semester. An order was placed from Jimmy John’s for sandwiches and cookies and delivered around noon on Tuesday of finals week. I ordered for 70 and it was plenty for all of them and I believe there were some leftovers. Based on the number I ordered for it worked out, including a tip for the driver, to $5.00 per person. They loved it, and now want another meal for this semester’s finals.
I know that Mrs. Santos sent some treats for Halloween (THANK YOU!). I happened to be at FSU the first part of December and made up some bags with homemade fudge and almond bark and was able to give it to them. I also filled up some plastic easter eggs with chocolates and sent them down. They received them the Friday before Easter and really liked them. Candy seems to be a big hit.
At the meeting last October $350.00 was collected as dues ($50.00 per family agreed upon) for the year. I did not receive any other funds. The year will run between each parents weekend because that’s when most of us can get together, so if you already gave me $50.00, you’re not due until the next parent’s weekend.
The members are now requesting another meal for upcoming finals week, so I am again asking for donations. They liked Jimmy John’s but I’ll ask if they have another preference.
I’ve got a bank account at Sun Trust set up in the name of Chi Phi Parents Association. If you would like to donate, you can send a check to me (info below) and I’ll order the food.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to handle this better please let me know. I was thinking if a few of us could bake some cookies or brownies, and make up a few bags of trail mix it would help on the total food cost. If you’re interested let me know. If several volunteer, it won’t fall on any one person to do the whole job.

Next year's Parent's Weekend information will go here as we receive it.
If you would like to make a donation to the Nu Delta chapter follow this link to the donations page. The donations you make will help contribute to several house improvements; including a fence and a locking gate in the back of the house, relining the parking lot to increase available spots on game days, and adding on to the front deck. Your donations will also help the Chapter achieve our goal of recruiting 25-30 guys who we will turn into Great Greek Men. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated and will go to a great cause.
